What an incredible J-Girls training session! Girls of all ages came together to sharpen their judo skills, build confidence, and connect with fellow female judoka. The energy on the mat was electric—with everyone pushing their limits, supporting each other, and proving just how strong women in judo can be!
We were honoured to have Tinka Easton, Commonwealth Games gold medallist, leading the session. Her passion and expertise inspired our young Canberra girls to dream big and train even harder!

Adding to the excitement, we were privileged to welcome Kate Corkery, President of the Oceania Judo Union and a global leader in the sport. As a dedicated advocate for female participation, she highlighted the incredible value women bring to judo and the importance of growing opportunities for female athletes.
Who will be next to follow in Tinka’s or Kate’s footsteps—becoming a champion or a leader in the sport? With this unstoppable momentum, the future of women’s judo in Canberra is bright !!
Ready to be part of the movement? Join us in building a strong, supportive community for female judoka and empowering more girls to step onto the mat. Let’s grow women’s judo together!
